About my practice
Originally from the Chicago-land area, Dr. Caballes attended medical school at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City. He completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York University (NYU) Medical Center where he also served as Chief Resident. During residency, he was the recipient of several awards, including the Howard Rusk Award for Teaching and Leadership.
Following residency, he completed an ACGME-accredited PM&R Sports Medicine Fellowship at NYU, where he served as head team physician for St. Joseph's College. He also received specialized training for endurance athletes and performing artists at the NYU Center for Musculoskeletal Care Running Performance Lab and The Juilliard School and Harkness Center for Dance Injuries.
He is currently in practice as a non-surgical sports medicine physician at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado – Cornerstone Orthopedics and Sports Medicine (Superior and Westminster locations).
Care philosophy
“I have a passion for providing patients with a multifaceted approach to health aimed at preventing injury, maximizing performance, and achieving functional and sports-related goals. My approach to patient care is based on combining all available modalities for orthopedic conditions including exercise, physical modalities, bracing, injections, and regenerative medicine.
One of my special interests is diagnostic and therapeutic use of musculoskeletal ultrasound. My clinical repertoire of treatments focuses on continually balancing the patient's physical goals with optimal recovery needs.
As a non-surgical sports medicine specialist, I believe in providing the best care for my patients by extending musculoskeletal care beyond the diagnosis in order to focus on functional assessment with the goal of understanding the impact on the patient's physical and daily activities.”
